Damage done: 3,164 started the week; 12 picked teams lost, knocking out 931 people; 2,233 of us are moving on to Week 5.
Could it have been worse? Much worse. With five minutes left in the third quarter Sunday night, the possibility of just 700 people making it to Week 5 was very much in play. Seahawks-Colts was 18-18, and an Indy win would have meant an 11 percent survival rate after four weeks. Thankfully, this:
Closest call: Cardinals over Niners. Our fourth-largest pick didn't score a touchdown until the game's final play. Good thing the Niners never scored one. 18-15 Cards:
Easiest win: Trubisky over Glennon. Without ever having thrown an NFL pass, Mitchell Trubisky is this generation's most successful Bears quarterback against the Packers. Green Bay was up 35-7 before Chicago tacked on a garbage time score.
Toughest loss: Bills beat Falcons. The sequence of events wasn't particularly excruciating - the Bills were ahead much of the game - but the fact this upset happened at all is pretty excruciating. Yes, "records matter more than perception" is a closely held BFIG truism, but it's still tough to swallow when 1) No one gave the Bills any hope this year, and 2) The Falcons were 3-0 and playing at home. Woof.
Team SZN record: 0-0. You'd think we should be good at this by now, right?
