Friends in fast breaks,
Steph Curry, at the ripe age of 35 and fresh off both a 40 spot AND a 50 spot in the last 10 days, is once again our top One-and-Done pick.
Commish isn't gonna talk about the 2009 NBA Draft and how the Minnesota Timberwolves drafted five guards and none of them were Steph.
HE'S NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT IT.
WEEK 20 PICKS
- Walking Bucket Wilt OAD
- The Worm Survivor
Only because it's Minnesota and relatively few people care about small market teams do the Timberwolves not get lumped into the conversation of worst draft blunder of all time.
They had the No. 5 AND 6 picks.
Steph was available.
They took Ricky Rubio (ok) and... Jonny Flynn (NOT OKKKKKKK).
The Dubs were like "thank you very much see you on the other side of our dynasty."
Steph is playing like he's 25 all over again.
And many of us are banking on him to bring it home for us in the Wilt One-and-Done.
Meanwhile, our final 5 survivors in The Worm are HEAVY on road teams (7 out of 10 picks), and nothing can ever go wrong when you pick road winners in the NBA. Nope nope nope...
PICK STATS
Walking Bucket Wilt OAD
- Steph (at ATL) led the way with a relatively modest 37 picks.
- We're late in the SZN, so it's gonna be hard for any guy to get 50+ picks
- This bumped Steph to 77% utilization in the Golden Spreadsheet - 5th most of any player
- Steph's splash bro, Klay Thompson, also got 6 picks
- Next up on our pick board: Anthony Davis (vs. DAL; sans LeBron) with 36 picks, Julius Randle (vs. DEN; 35 picks); and Kyrie (at LAL; sans Luka) with 24 picks.
- Last week was a similar story with "because the other star guy is hurt", but Anthony Davis put up the most bizarre sub-10-point performance of the year, and Kyrie was a last-minute DNP due to injury maintenance
- LET'S DO BETTER THIS WEEK, GUYS
- Going heavy Randle against Jokic is a spicy move. Commish likes it!
- We had THIRTEEN guys with at least 10 picks. We are very firmly in "warm body (check) can get buckets sometimes (check)" territory.
- We also had 10 guys with exactly 1 pick, including someone REALLY hoping Karl Anthony-Towns will finally come back from his "this is taking WAY longer than expected" injury (hint: he's not coming back yet)

The Worm Survivor
- We're down to 5 steely survivors, in our fourth week of double picks
- They're making their 15th and 16th picks this week
- And what happens when you're making your 15th and 16th NBA Survivor picks?
- You increasingly ride the road teams, baby
- 7 out of 10 total picks, and 4 out of the 6 unique teams selected are on the road
- No team has more than 2 picks, so while we're almost certain to see carnage, we're also almost certain to see at least two people survive till Week 21.

PICK COMMENTS
@Merf (LAL): "I think my pick can outscore Virginia."
Commish says: You kick dead horses don't you, Merf. BE HONEST.
@LeviLeo (BOS): "Let's make this 10th place segment ranking a 1st place segment ranking "
Commish says: HE SMELLS BLOOD. (And by blood I mean copious amounts of buckets.)
@kbanaian (BOS): "It's amazing that this guy is still on my list of available. No wonder I suck."
Commish says: Hahahaha. I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing with you. I'm literally in last place among all 2,300 SZN March Madness Brackets.
@YikesVikes (SAC): "I'm in such a hole I'm picking the Fox. "
Commish says: The SZN is being overtaken by bad puns. Did y'all SEE our March Madness comments? What is happening?!?
@Mr_Rodgers_Neighborhood (Clippers, Grizzlies): "In the immortal words of Dan Fouts in the immortal 1998 classic “The Waterboy”, it’s the final game of the season, can’t hold anything back now!"
Commish says: Wait wait wait, are you predicting a Survivor title THIS WEEK? (Checks notes...) It could actually happen for you! (Need NOP and PHI losses, combined with either SAC or TOR losing. And of course your two picks winning.)
@MONSTERXXX (LAL): "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH !!! Anthony " Sammy " Davis Lets Gooo ! i need a miracle "
Commish says: I actually looked up whether The Brow's middle name was Sammy and now I am embarrassed.
@NEELERSBTB1 (CLE): "Sunshine Superman!!!!!!"
Commish says: I DON"T KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS BUT IT FEELS GOOD!!!
Yours in Roundball Rock,
The Commish
