Friends in fore,
IT'S MASTERS WEEK.
That means we're picking in YEYPO (One and Done), Big John Survivor, Survivor #2, AND Majors Roster (Pick 8).
Majors Roster works like this: Pick 8 guys. Most total earnings wins. Prizes for EACH Major, plus Overall (all 4 Majors combined). You can reuse guys, so just pick your 8 best.
WEEK 12 (The Masters)
- Go to your competitions page >>
- Purse: $15,000,000
- First place: $2,700,000
What did last year's best Masters roster look like?
@MiMiago took it down with $6,977,583 in total earnings. (See 2022 Masters' roster standings)
They picked Scheff (champ), Rory (2nd), Cam Smith (T3), Morikawa (5th), Willy Z (T6), DJ (T12), Hideki (T14), Hovland (T27).
That is pretty damn good. Other Majors last year did not require THAT strong of a performance to take the crown.
But if the leaderboard is as big name-heavy as last year's Masters? You should expect to need a lights-out performance to win.
And what about Tiger?
Leave him off your roster and know you will absolutely cringe if he's anywhere near the lead after one round. Talk about killing your fun.
But pick him and he misses the cut? You'll kick yourself for playing with your heart and not your head.
WEEK 11 RECAP
YEYPO
Golfer Performance | Weekly Performance | Overall Standings | Golden Spreadsheet
Corey Conners won the Valero Texas Open for the second time. He was our 4th biggest pick, meaning 159 of us bagged a win, but our top three (Fowler, Si Woo Kim, Hatton) didn't do so well. So, overall, we averaged a good-but-not-great 3.15% of the purse per pick ($280,396).
So obvious in retrospect. Conners has made his mark as 1/ a Canadian, and 2/ a guy who almost always finishes top 20 but very rarely contends for a win. Yet, in a weak field, why was the 5th best golfer in the field (by World Rank), who WON here just a few years ago, only our 4th biggest pick? It's not like we're saving Conners for one of the big purse events!
Skin?
Nope, but the third round leader (Patrick Rodgers) was a full skin oppo! That would have been two skinnies in three weeks. Alas, Rodgers did what he's been known to do... fade at the end.
Biggest Shank
Tyrell Hatton. AGAIN. That's two weeks in a row for Mr. Ornery-sometimes-funny-
Standings
@GatorBuffs maintained their lead despite picking Hatton, which reflects how tough it was for most of us this week. We did get a new entrant in the top 5, with @ryandarcy10 picking Cam Young and bagging $2.2M for the runner-up finish.
Big John
Golfer Performance | Weekly Performance | Alive Players | Golden Spreadsheet
We went from 218 to 162 after we missed on Hatton but hit on all of our other big picks. The next biggest pick to miss the cut was Ryan Fox (9 picks).
Survivor #2
Golfer Performance | Weekly Performance | Alive Players | Golden Spreadsheet
We went from 427 to 332 after Hatton spoiled the opening week of this pool for many of us. Boooooo, Tyrell.
Team SZN Performance
Rough week for us. Nobody fared better than T10 (@Merf on Chris Kirk), and Commish dropped out of the top 100 for the first time. LET'S TURN IT AROUND, PEOPLE.
Reminder: Team SZN plays along for fun and bragging rights but can't win any money.
Yours in metal stick swinging,
The Commish

@TheCommish can you please add JT Poston to my homie one and done group. I did select him in the yeyo pool and I believe I selected him in the homie one and done, but it didn't take. Other group members in homie one and done agreed to let jt Poston added for me. Thanks!
