Friends in fast breaks,
It's hard to say the In-Season Tournament is anything less than a rousing success. Congrats to the Lakers and LeBron for their first NBA Cup and IST MVP, respectively. Looking back over it...
Pros
- Players cared about games before the All Star Break
- Competitiveness was high
- IST Courts made the games "distinct"
- Initial layout of the tournament worked pretty well
Cons
- IST Courts were visual abominations
- Players comically uninformed on how it worked
- A bit of scheduling wonkiness
Potential Improvements
- Courts. Seriously. Fix this alone and I'll be happy. My retinas should never be subjected to a red and blue court again!
SCHEDULE REMINDER
Interval 2 starts for Points One-And-Done. Our Overall points will continue to stack, but we also start back at 0 for Weeks 8 to 16 for a chance at another set of prizes like our winners in Interval 1.
Survivor #1 continues with over 61% of you still alive, great work! Last year, after 6 weeks of picks, we were already down to 6.5%. All hail double elimination!
All 30 One-And-Done resumes and the game is still WIDE open. 48 people are tied for the lead at a perfect 6-0, but there's still 24 picks to be made and a lot of chaos to ensue.
H2 of NBA SZN begins on January 12th with Week 12. If you're not in our H2 Pools (Survivor #2, Weekly Pick'em, Wins Battle) or Playoff Pools (Playoffs Pick'em, NBA Finals Props), get in and bring some friends!
Yours in Roundball Rock,
The GM
