Friends in fast breaks,
We've made it to the final two weeks. Crowns will be created based on these last picks. But beware - The Tanks are about to tank HARDER. Lots of new little "injuries" will show up. Players who were expected to return will have "setbacks". The field will be as treacherous as ever!
Keep a close eye on the injury report - You should probably check it on Friday mornings. Anybody could go down, costing you a DNP or a wrong pick, and that could be the difference between placing for prizes and "good luck next year".
REMINDER: Our playoff pools start with the Play-In! The Playoffs Pick'em and NBA Finals Props are both available to join, even for new players if you want to refer a friend. When the NBA crowns their champion this year, we could be crowning you too!
RESULTS SUMMARY
Points One-And-Done
J. Brunson straight up REFUSES to let his team (and us) down, posting a crazy 61 points this week. I just can't imagine taking 47 shots in a game. Praise this man!
V. Wembanyama scored his first 40 burger this week, something people expect to just become normal for him at this point. If you missed it, the Brunson/Wemby OT duel was spectacular.
So our best possible weekly performance was 101 points. We didn't manage that combo, but @AC0606 did manage 91 points with a Brunson/Irving combo. Nice work!
C. Thomas was our top pick (48 picks) and scored 28, a solid return for the streaky guard.
We scored 22.1 points per pick, mildly above average based on our post-ASB numbers.
For DNPs, 11 pickable players from our roster didn't play. We had 56 picks on these players, causing 11 Double DNPs, resulting in zero points. Just devastating. As always - Double check the injury report (linked on the pick page) on Thursday or Friday to make sure your picks aren't out. We leave a note on known injured players during the week and remove players with longer-term injuries to try and help prevent this issue, but you have to take control of your destiny here. Also, there's more resting of stars in these final weeks, watch out!
Overall Standings Check In - @aphanson7 STILL has the lead at 1,180 points. Only a couple weeks left, and 20th place (our final prize) is at 1,110 points.
Interval 3 Check In - @spencermai jumped into the lead by a single point at 371. Interval 3 runs through the end of the regular SZN, let's see who finishes strongest.
Squads Check In - Basket-Balling with Nigel is in the lead with 3,262 points.
Survivor #1
We had a wild finish here!
@Ndnowak1429 made a clever move, taking both sides of the DET/WAS game, guaranteeing a single win, but also elimination. @DOCTORDER took WAS and SAS - They got the win from SAS, but lost with WAS (they had DET available!). With that, they were both eliminated.
But we hate championship ties! So they're both participating in a pick-off on this weekend's slate. Best of luck to whomever takes the crown!
Overall Standings Check In - We're running a pick-off to find our Champion!
Squads Check In - DFS Sweatshop takes the crown with 42 wins.
All 30 One-And-Done
The chickens came home to roost. We hit a SZN-worst 44.5% win rate this week. Shoot, when it slips below 50%, should we talk about it being a 55.5% loss rate?
Our top pick of DET won, but then our next 4 biggest picks all lost. Ouch.
Overall Standings Check In - @NEELERSBTB1 broke free of the tie again, standing with 25 wins. 4 picks left, will they hold on?
Squads Check In - Basket-Balling with Nigel is in the lead with 68 wins.
Survivor #2
Quadruple picks claimed a LOT of lives. It hurts, but we gotta shed people to have a champ!
There were 80 wrong picks, leading to 31 eliminations. Remember, every correct pick counts towards your final placing!
We're left with just 2 players battling for the crown: @jamescattrysse5 who went 4/4 last week and @Davidb113 who went 3/4. They've both missed a pick, so any mistake this week means elimination.
Overall Standings Check In - There are 2 players alive. Every pick matters! Hello QUADRUPLE PICKS!
Squads Check In - Basket-Balling with Nigel takes the crown with 44 wins.
Weekly Pick'em
Another mediocre week, posting a 61.7% win rate. That averages out to 9.3 correct picks out of 15 games.
Our biggest misses were NYK @ SAS and MIN @ DEN, where we only got 11.0% of picks right in both games. Two BIG upsets means no one managed to go perfect. Still no perfect week for us this SZN.
There was a 3-way tie for @Jr226, @Redhawk, and @chagotwo3 who went 13/15 this week. They'll split the weekly prize!
Overall Standings Check In - @ETB2090 finally broke the tie and has a 1 game lead with 124 wins.
Squads Check In - Air Ballers Anonymous jumped into the lead with 346 wins.
Yours in Roundball Rock,
The GM
