Friends in fast breaks,
Giannis is mystically dodging an achilles tear. We had our first ever game where a team took NO free throws. Drummond is ruining his own teammates alley-oop. Wemby is slowing down 3 on 1 fast breaks. This weirdness can only mean one thing: THE WITCHING HOUR IS HERE!
Week 25 of NBA is wild. Tanking teams are tanking. Contenders are resting. And players are trying out all kinds of interesting things when the wins are either critical to seeding or completely useless.
Be on your guard. There's no telling what happens this week as we finish the regualr season!
REMINDER: Our playoff pools start with the Play-In! The Playoffs Pick'em and NBA Finals Props are both available to join, even for new players if you want to refer a friend. When the NBA crowns their champion this year, we could be crowning you too!
RESULTS SUMMARY
Points One-And-Done
D. Fox blew up for 40, a surprise for him. In our pool, that's the best he's posted since W14 34 points. And before that, he hadn't broken abov 31 since W5. Welcome back Foxy!
D. Lillard put up 36 for second place, which is his best since W13. So kind for a few guys to pop off when we're desperate here at the end!
So our best possible weekly performance was 76 points. We didn't get that combo, but three players (@Logan2273, @YRubin, and @yankevin) scored 70 points via and Embiid/Fox combo. Nice work!
V. Wembanyama was our top pick (58 picks) but only scored a weak 17 points. Rooks are still going to rook guys, not sure what else to say.
We scored 19.5 points per pick, easily our weakest showing to date. End of the season is HARD. Makes a big pick much more valuable this late in the game.
For DNPs, 17 pickable players from our roster didn't play, just ridiculous. We had 65 picks on these players, causing 17 Double DNPs, resulting in zero points. Just devastating. As always - Double check the injury report (linked on the pick page) on Thursday or Friday to make sure your picks aren't out. We leave a note on known injured players during the week and remove players with longer-term injuries to try and help prevent this issue, but you have to take control of your destiny here. Also, there's more resting of stars in these final weeks, watch out!
Overall Standings Check In - @ihalpern traded back into first, with 1,221 points. It's not impossible for any of our top few players to claim the crown with one last amazing set of picks.
Interval 3 Check In - @spencermai still in the lead with 421 points. Interval 3 runs through the end of the regular SZN, let's see who finishes strongest.
Squads Check In - Basket-Balling with Nigel is in the lead with 3,418 points.
Survivor #1
@DOCTORDER took the crown in our tiebreaker pickoff, with @Ndnowak1429 taking second. Congrats to both our competitors!
Overall Standings Check In - @DOCTORDER wins!
Squads Check In - DFS Sweatshop takes the crown with 42 wins.
All 30 One-And-Done
We managed a 60.1% win rate, despite making POR, MEM, BKN, and DET 4 of our top 5 picks. That's not bad, honestly. NOP was actually our biggest lost, with 42 riding them.
Overall Standings Check In - @NEELERSBTB1 still has a one win lead. They only have MEM and TOR left for this week. Will that be their undoing?
Squads Check In - Basket-Balling with Nigel is in the lead with 71 wins.
Survivor #2
Both of our remaining players went 2/4 and were eliminated. That means tiebreaker pick-off time! We'll see if @jamescattrysse5 or @Davidb113 can take it home this weekend.
Overall Standings Check In - Tiebreaker pickoff time.
Squads Check In - Basket-Balling with Nigel takes the crown with 44 wins.
Weekly Pick'em
One of our weakest weeks yet, with a 58.3% win rate. That averages out to 9.3 correct picks out of 16 games.
Our biggest miss was TOR @ MIL, where only 2.7% picked TOR to win. That's CRAZY. Yet again, we didn't get a perfect week.
There was a 2-way tie for @dylanpiercy and @Ginohassideburns who went 14/16 this week. They'll split the weekly prize!
Overall Standings Check In - @ETB2090 still in a 1 game lead with 134 wins.
Squads Check In - Air Ballers Anonymous is in the lead with 371 wins.
Yours in Roundball Rock,
The GM
