Friends in fore,
Sundays have not been kind to Akshay Bhatia. He hadn't bogeyed all week. He was in the final group this Sunday, just like last week.
But Aaron Rai, Min Woo Lee, Cam Young, and Cam Davis all brought their A-game and put the press on him. As he teed off on 18, tied with Davis, he needed a birdie to win or a par to tie.
He started 18 by smoking a drive right down the middle. Then his second shot found the green but left him with a 32 foot downhill birdie putt. His put lacked the steam and left him with a par putt that could not be called a gimme. Rai had almost the exact same putt and drained it with ease. It gave Bhatia an excellent look at what lie ahead.
Two of the previous 3 Rocket Mortgage Classics had ended in playoffs. Last week's tournament, ended in a playoff. It looked like we were headed for our second week in a row, until Bhatia pushed his par putt for his first 3 putt of the week.
This gave Cam Davis his first PGA career win, and left a whole bunch of people asking when Cam Davis stopped being their insurance agent and became a professional golfer. His win fits squarely into our theme of "Scheff, Rory, Xander, and the unknown."
LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
What happened, in one paragraph
After dominating for almost the entire tournament, Akshay Bhatia couldn't seal the deal. This lead to a first career victory for Cam Davis, who pulled away from a pack of low scores, that slowed down on Sunday.
One-and-Done ("YEYPO")
- Avg earnings: $269,574 (2.93% of purse). We bounced back from a very average week to having our 6th best week of the year, thanks to our top pick finishing second, tied with several other high picks.
- Winner picks: 8. One has to wonder just how good our weekly earnings would have been if one of our high picked guys won rather than a dude with single digit picks.
- Overall leader: @Jrasch at $20,368,807. @Jrasch becomes our new leader by gaining a slightly more than $38k lead over our previous leader, @RickJamesBitch.
- Interval 4 Winner: @jromanlam ($9.9M). New leader alert! Bhatia may not have finished 1st in the tourney, but he did move @jromanlam to the top spot and wins them Interval 4!
- Best Squad: Homies at $50M. Homies are still leading! And for those of you at home wondering if @Jdoogz got better this week, he missed the cut. If they pull this off Jdoogz needs to use his share of the winnings to buy the group BLLs all night long.
Survivor #1
- Damage done: 6 down. Almost half the pool got knocked out this week.
- Survivors: 7 are on to Week 25. We said in the picks email a lot depended on Bhatia, Min Woo Lee, and Cam Young. All 3 finished Top 10.
- Squad champ: Shotgun Beers, Not Starts. This is over. Congrats to our first Golf SZN squad winner!
Survivor #2
- Damage done: 4 down. All of those knocked out had either Jaeger or Noren.
- Survivors: 4 are on to Week 25.
- Best Squad: Stonemarkers - GOLF. We have a winner! After Stephen Jaeger missed the cut, that knocked out the last of Saturday Hackers. Giving Stonemarkers - GOLF the crown.
Top 10s
- Avg points earned: 2.24. Even with so many big names missing, we followed our best week ever with our 2nd best week ever!
- Top 10s actually picked: 12 of 16. We missed on Sam Stevens, Dylan Wu, Rico Hoey, & Hayden Springer.
- Best weekly score: 6 (21 people). The highest number of perfect scores we've ever had in a week, topping the previous record of 18.
- Overall leader: @Ndnowak1429 (62 points). After taking 1st last week, our leader retains the top spot with an impressive 5 point showing, thanks to Cam Davis and Davis Thompson.
- Best Squad: Nigel HonoringTigersGreatness (157 pts). They added a lot of points this week, but the lead still shrunk by 1 overall.
"All 30" One-and-Done
- Bye week. This pool is only active in "big money" weeks.
100 Tier One-and-Done
- Avg earnings: $281,756 (3.06% of purse). Nowhere close to our best or worst week, but still above average.
- Winner picks: 1. Congrats to @bbcbrody on the skin!
- Overall leader: @TSuthe88 at $19,576,861. The top 3 remain the same here, after all 3 picked golfers who missed the cut.
- Interval 2 leader: @Light_The_Candle88 with $14,098,593. New leader alert! Unlike YEYPO, 100 Tier only has 2 intervals, so this is still going.
Yours in metal stick swinging,
The Commish

I'm curious why no 2/3 points are posted for the T10 contest. Any thoughts? It's possible I missed an email or notification but just curious.
